Our customers love us. Here’s what they say:
Sadly, though, this particular oud has really left me feeling disappointed.
It’s not really the fault of Ethnic Musical. The instrument arrived fast and perfectly intact. It’s just that the actual instrument itself really isn’t all that special.
The sound is kind of flat, the build quality looks great but feels pretty flimsy, and tuning everything was a real chore. I was eventually able to get it to a place that I didn’t hate musically, but I haven’t played it all that often and am probably going to give it away to someone that wants to learn to play the oud for next to nothing.
When an instrument has this kind of price tag you just expect something a little more impressive I guess. This just didn’t do it for me.
The rich history and tradition of this beautiful instrument was apparent to me from the moment it arrived neatly in the mail. The walnut and maple were perhaps a little less striking than the pictures had suggested, but I am nonetheless extremely thrilled with this instrument!!
The picture looks great but unfortunately, that isn't what arrived.
When I opened the box, I found that the oud was damaged. Ironic considering the description states "extra durability" HA.
I wasn't happy so I contacted them. To be honest, they were very kind about it. They refunded me the full price. So, the customer service is all good, I'm just not at all happy with what arrived.
This may not mean much coming from such a newbie player, but they are wonderful. Their quality is nice and surprisingly easy to install (for a rookie like me that has got to tell you something).
For what it's worth, I love the Pyramid brand and will definitely re-purchase when the time is right! "
This cumbus knocked me out right from the jump. I love the look. Really sleek, really modern, really clean.
Dug a little deeper and found out it’s a legit Turkish piece from Instanbul. If you’ve played cumbus for any amount of time you know just how great these instruments are. I dropped the $300 bucks on it right away and sat refreshing tracking info almost every day haha.
The second I got it I popped it out of the box. Looked just as good in real life as it did in pictures. Maybe even better.Playing it has been a lot of fun so far. I’ve got it tuned just the way I like it and audiences seem to be responding well
After stumbling on this oud I instantly fell in love with its look. Clean lines, beautiful woodwork. It was exactly what I was looking for…and it’s from Turkey!
A joy to play, I’ve been using it almost exclusively when recording and at live shows.
They're sleek and elegant. Even though I didn't like the black colour to begin with, they go well with my oud so all's well that ends well.
They haven't been scratched and were in perfect condition when they arrived. I like how easy they are to turn so I don't have to spend too long tuning the instrument when all I want to do is play!
All things considered, these do what they say on the tin.
It's a good quality instrument that not only looks beautiful but sounds and feels beautiful too. I would recommend.
This is something you’ve got to hear for yourself.
Gorgeous with a super clean and traditional look that doesn’t scream electric or modern at all, the Fishman pick up inside takes us to the next level. You can play it anyway you like but you add a little bit of juice and electrify this bad boy and all of a sudden it really screams.
It’s a wild ride and a couple of my musician buddies are already talking about picking one up themselves because of how cool it sounds.
I've got a lot of Turkish Kanums to choose from at home but this one has to be my new favourite. It's not just because of the intricate designs (although I do love this aesthetic) but the sound is great as well.
I like the fact it comes with the picks too since beginners probably won't have any at home. And it's relatively easy to tune but, just like any instrument, it does take practice to get it right.
It's also quite cool to see the pictures of the workshop where it was made. I haven't seen many stores do this yet so it's a nice touch.
If you're serious about Turkish Qanuns and have the money, you can't go wrong with this
