Beautifully made instrument, the packing job was excellent, only a hard case could have been better. I appreciate the tuning instructions and pics!

Good but needs a basics manual
It's good quality but there should have been a basics manual for how to tune and play. I accidentally broke 2 strings(wound strings precisely) and had to fix it which wasn't hard but stressful.

What impressed me most about this saz was its sound for the price. I was happy I could take it right out of the case and play it. The rosewood pegs are also easy to tune and don't slip.

If youre wondering if this is good quality for the money. .. .it is
You may have seen a saz played on youtube and liked the sound and wondered if you should buy one and learn how to play it, like I have. Let me just say that you have never played a fretted string instrument with such low action as the saz. I would have thought that with such long string so close to each other, that the strings would rattle against each other as well as buzz on the frets. .. .. they dont. There is no other fretted string instrument that comes remotely close to how delicate the strings feel to the touch, its effortless to fret the strings which is much different than a guitar that requires time to develop calluses. To learn this instrument you will need a book or an online course. I am using the only english language saz book on Amazon. There are other saz books on Amazon that are only in the Turkish language which I wish the publishers would make english editions for. There is also a very good book on Turkish maqams if youre not familiar with arabic/turkish music theory and scales. The workmanship on this instrument is quite good, as Ive already said it has very low action that never buzzes. So for $200 you cant go wrong in trying out this saz. My only complaint was that the rosette pattern of the sound holes on my saz was different than the pic on the product page. But other than that it was exactly the same so I will overlook that small detail.

An elegant and beautitul instrument! I love the traditional Turkish design, and am happy to have it on display in my living room. My husband's family is from Turkey and they visit a few times a year, so it's always great to play some music for them when they visit. P. S. it's not the best saz, but ok for the price
