Shami Oud Mahogany & Walnut

Im very happy with the quality of workmanship and sound of this oud. The action feels good on it. The tuning pegs turn easily and hold tune well. I very much like the lacquer they used, it doesnt have a plastic feel to it, it feels very soft and smooth. The top of the soundboard is unfinished wood, I dont like that as I am worried that I will smudge it and it will get dirty and I wont be able to clean it. I know that it is traditional to have unfinished wood for the soundboard top but I wish they would provide an option to order this oud with a completely varnished soundboard. Maybe I can find out what brand of varnish they use and finish it myself. The sound is very good, it has a nice clear mellow tone which is what I wanted. Not harsh or ringy. This oud was delivered to me in Tacoma Washington in about a month.

First, shipping was really fast. I was a little nervous that my order would be delayed but it actually ended up getting here sooner than I expected. That was definitely a pleasant surprise.  The look of this instrument was what first grabbed me. Traditional but with a modern twist, it reminded me of ouds that my parents played but with something a little bit of extra energy injected into the design. It’s really good-looking!  Super impressed with the quality of the build across the board. Authentic shami sounds come pouring out, the strings that were included (and preinstalled) are definitely high-quality, and I’ve found myself picking this instrument up more often than not just to play around with it.  Some people might find the bowl a little too big to handle comfortably, but my hands are on the smaller side of things and it doesn’t feel all that out of place. The soft case is just okay and something I upgraded almost immediately, but it was nice to see it included all the same.

I've received the Oud 3 days ago, and I'm enjoying it. It took some time for the strings to adjust to the dry air here in Huston, but now it sounds brilliant. It took around 3 weeks to arrive!

I'm not an oud player, but this instrument has kept all the promises. it's definitely hand made, and the sound is wonderful. It will probably take some time until I'll get how to play it, but I already love it! On a side note, shipping took 3 weeks!
